Did You Know? Throwing electronics in the trash is illegal in Colorado due to their toxic materials.

That's where we come in.

Declutter your electronic waste, responsibly.

We come to your door, securely wipe your data if needed, and take your old/broken/unwanted electronics to a certified recycling facility, while items with the potential of a second life are refurbished and resold (some profit going back to you) or donated first, instead of recycled. Clear, upfront pricing. One full process, and nothing goes to the landfill.

The first established door-to-door e-waste pickup service in Boulder.

"I truly appreciate this service. I do my best to recycle, but it isn't always easy. Juett Tech Rescue was affordable, arrived on time, and took my old laptop and a box of chargers and things. These students were a delight to talk to, and they explained the e-waste problem really well to me. It's a growing issue, and they're really tackling it! They're even refurbishing my laptop for donation. Amazing!!"

?Doing it yourself, a junk hauler, or us: How It Compares+

You can drop off your waste yourself at CHaRM. However, we’re here to fill the gap for everyone who’d rather keep the afternoon, skip the line, and have data wiping and resale or donation (if needed) handled in the same stop. It also takes away the worry of hunting for the best-priced general recycler or junk pickup service, which most of the time can’t securely wipe your data if you need it, because e-waste isn’t what they focus on.

Take a common pickup: an old flat-screen TV, a couple of laptops, and a box of cables and phones.

Example Pickup:
Do it yourself
~$25–$35+ plus a small facility fee: drop-off centers bill most waste by the pound (CHaRM is about $0.59/lb). Then it’s your time: load the car, drive across town, wait in line, sort, and haul the heavy TV yourself. Want data wiped? That’s potentially a separate trip or fee. Anything still working loses its resale value.
A general recycler or junk hauler
~$100–150: most charge a bulky-pickup minimum, don’t explicitly focus on e-waste, and won’t wipe your data or rehome electronics with refurbishment potential.
With Juett Tech Rescue
$72: the $50 base pickup plus the $22 flat-screen TV, at your door in an evening or weekend slot. Hauling, sorting, secure data wiping, and refurbishing or donating anything that still works are all built in. One price, one stop, zero of your time.
Juett Tech Rescue is priced well under general junk haulers: you never have to load and haul anything across town or run a separate errand to wipe your data, and anything still working can get a second life. We also donate a portion of all profits to the Basel Action Network. The difference: a little more in cost than doing every step yourself, for your afternoon back and everything handled in one place.

Here is the real difference: general recycling companies and junk haulers do not explicitly focus on e-waste. Juett Tech Rescue was built to address the fastest-growing solid waste stream on the planet head-on, and to handle it with expertise from start to finish. We spend all of our time refurbishing, repurposing for donation or resale, and securely wiping data for our clients. E-waste is all we do, because it has to be targeted independently to reach the highest rates of recycling, data security, and refurbishment. We bring every one of those specialties into one service, conveniently and affordably.

One more thing that sets us apart: whether you're comparing us to drop-off facilities, other local recyclers offering e-waste pickup, or general junk services, we're the ones officially partnered with DRM Worldwide, one of the world’s leaders in IT asset disposition, diverting roughly 900,000 lbs of e-waste a year with zero data breaches across their decade-plus in the industry.

What certified data destruction costs around here

Wiping a drive on your own usually means its own trip or a business minimum. For comparison:

Shredding Services (Boulder & Denver)
$12–$20 per drive, often with a minimum or a separate trip. On-site “come-to-you” destruction runs 20–30% more.
With Juett Tech Rescue
$15 per device, done during your pickup — no separate trip, no minimum, Certificate of Data Destruction on request.

Secure Data Wiping: $15 per device

When needed, we’ll securely wipe hard drives, factory-reset devices, or physically destroy storage that can’t be reliably wiped, before anything is recycled, resold, or donated. The fee is $15 per device wiped.

?How we keep your data secure+

Data security runs through DRM Worldwide, our national IT asset disposition partner. Every device we collect is routed to them for disposition, handled under their NAID certification and zero-data-breach policy: zero breaches across their decade-plus in enterprise ITAD. That is the gold standard for the industry, and it's what your devices are held to.

Every device is either securely wiped or physically destroyed before it is recycled, resold, or donated. Nothing leaves our hands with your data still on it.

Want proof? A Certificate of Data Destruction is available on request for any pickup.

What We Take

If it plugs in or runs on a battery, we’ll take it. A sample of what we accept:

Items with Refurbishment Potential

Nothing is guaranteed, but these items tend to work best. Age and condition matter: working, partly working, or just older and unwanted all qualify. Broken tech with potential is evaluated case by case, since it can hold real parts value. The strongest candidates:

Have fully working tech you'd like routed for donation or resale? Email juetttechrescue@gmail.com for a quick response.

Resale or Donation Option: Some Tech Is Worth More Than Recycling

Some of the tech we pick up still holds real value. We work with a partnered CU computer science student alongside DRM Worldwide, our new national IT asset disposition partner. For tech with refurbishment potential, you can have us refurbish your device and either resell it, with a percentage of the proceeds going back into your hands, or donate it back into the community. Potential money back, and we handle everything. Refurbishable items also skip the facility run, which saves gas and saves you money on pickup: no commercial gas rate charge for that leg.

Eligibility, payout, and full terms are confirmed before any item is resold or donated.

DRM Worldwide logo

We're officially partnered with DRM Worldwide on disposition: World leader in e-waste management and recycling, diverting 900,000+ lbs of e-waste a year with zero data breaches ever. DRM brings decades of enterprise infrastructure and ITAD expertise to the table, and they're R2v3, ISO, and NAID-certified, the leading global gold standards for responsible e-waste handling, abiding by a strict zero-landfill policy. While they excel at servicing large-scale corporations, Juett Tech Rescue comes into play by specializing in community-based operations: residential e-waste and small-business solutions. We formed this strategic B2B partnership for one reason: to secure the professional infrastructure necessary to provide the highest quality e-waste management for residents and small businesses. Juett Tech Rescue is still CU Boulder student-founded and student-run, and we're actively hiring more student runners; the partnership is what gives us the professional backing to deliver the highest possible grade of execution.

What this means: Juett Tech Rescue now has the professional backing to strengthen our data-wiping, pickup capacity, recycling and refurbishment capabilities.

Pickup Capacity

We fit as much as we can hold in our company vehicle โ€” rear seats folded flat gives us 59.8 cu ft of cargo space (~42” wide × 38” deep × 27” tall). If it all fits, we take it in one trip โ€” if not, an additional pickup may be scheduled.

Example Pickup
  • 1 large flat-screen TV (up to 55”)
  • 1 desktop tower & monitor
  • 2–3 laptops or a box of smaller devices
  • A printer or small appliance
  • A bag/box of cables, chargers & accessories

Not sure if your haul fits? Just mention it in the pickup form or contact us, and we’ll let you know before we head over.

Custom Capacity

Pickup capacity isn’t limited: for bigger jobs we can bring movers and whatever trucks the load calls for. Just let us know what you’ve got and we’ll help you out. Custom capacity is always available for commercial pickups. For individual residences, extra capacity beyond our normal 59.8 cu ft is available through residential bundles.

Meet Our Team
Hi, I'm Natalie (Founder & Chief Rescue Officer)
Natalie
20 Years Old · Born in Dallas, TX

I'm a junior at CU Boulder studying economics and political science. During my first semester of sophomore year, I took an Environmental Sustainability and Features course, where I learned about the serious effects of e-waste on our environment when electronics are disposed of improperly.

After researching what options existed in Boulder, I found a real gap. People are left choosing between hauling all their e-waste to a drop-off facility themselves and paying processing fees, or searching to find the best-priced general recycler or junk management service that doesn't even specialize in e-waste management to come pick it up. E-waste is our sole focus, because it's the fastest-growing solid waste stream on earth. I started Juett Tech Rescue to fill that gap: a simple, transparently priced pickup with certified e-waste recycling, and electronics with refurbishment potential refurbished, resold, or donated instead of shredded, built for Boulder residents. I established the business in December 2025, spent the winter building the website and refining the idea, and launched pickup operations in March 2026. We are proud to be the only waste management service in Boulder focusing specifically on electronic waste management.

Everything we do is transparently and fairly priced, and it's built to handle the whole process in one go. If it runs on a battery or plugs in, we pick it up, securely wipe any data that needs wiping, and take everything to a certified processing facility.

I've seen people get into this business solely to chase profits from electronics with refurbishment potential, cherry-picking the valuable items and leaving the rest behind. That's not what Juett Tech Rescue is about. My business is about the full cycle of recycling, and it starts with keeping electronics out of the landfill. That's why we take almost anything that plugs in or runs on a battery, because we care about the environmental impact of every device. We still handle refurbishment; it's one part of the mission, not the whole point.

Electronics with refurbishment potential are restored and then donated or resold, your choice. Choosing resale puts a little money back in your pocket and takes the hassle of repairing and reselling off your hands. We do this through a specialized network: resourcing to our main partner, DRM Worldwide, along with a former CU professor who helps us donate old laptops.

The facts are striking: the world generates over 50 million metric tons of electronic waste every year, making it the fastest-growing solid waste stream on the planet. According to the Global E-Waste Monitor 2024, only 22.3% of e-waste is formally recycled globally. When electronics end up in landfills, toxic materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium leach into the soil and groundwater, posing serious risks to both human health and local ecosystems. The World Health Organization has identified improper e-waste disposal as a growing public health concern.

The goal of this business is to make electronic waste recycling accessible for Boulder County residents and small businesses by tackling the issue head-on and closing the gap in convenience and affordability. I am also committed to giving back: a percentage of profits from every pickup is donated to Basel Action Network (BAN), a nonprofit dedicated to fighting illegal e-waste dumping and advocating for responsible recycling worldwide.
